Fort Hunt is an unincorporated community in southeastern Fairfax County. ZIP 22308 uses an Alexandria mailing address, which does not make the parcel part of the City of Alexandria. Building permits go through Fairfax County Land Development Services, not Alexandria Code Administration. The housing is mostly mid-century houses on larger lots along Fort Hunt Road and the George Washington Memorial Parkway, including Hollin Hills. Hollin Hills is a historic overlay, so exterior changes there are a separate county review from a typical building permit.
