Outdoor Living in Woodbine, MD

Carroll publishes separate fillable drawings for a deck with a shed roof and a deck with a gable roof, and those drawings are not the standard open-deck plan. Howard County DILP is the office only when that outdoor-living parcel is in Howard County. Carroll County Permits and Inspections is the office only when that outdoor-living parcel is in Carroll County.

A hot tub, a spa, or another permanent electric piece on a Carroll parcel also needs an electrical permit, filed by an electrician after the building application. Real Elite coordinates that electrical trade for a Woodbine spa or hot tub and does not perform the electrical work. Running water, or gas piping to a grill, on a Carroll parcel needs a plumbing and gas permit filed by a plumber. Real Elite coordinates that plumbing trade for the Woodbine grill or wet bar and does not perform the plumbing work. Carroll lets electrical, plumbing, and gas permits be dropped off, mailed, or filed online, which is a different path from the in-person building permit.
